Gotta feel for Lube They gave it their all, but Zaksa was always just a bit better. And when you look at it, there was much more team chemistry in Zaksa than with Lube. That said, I love how sport is such a great equalizer. Lube beat Trentino in the Italian Cup semis last year via the golden set. If you watch that game, it was such a heartbreaker for Trentino. Now it's Lube's turn to be at the losing end of the golden set rule.

Damn, I thought watching top national teams was great, but top club teams is on another level!

narrow margin. these two legs could have been the final. both teams played so well. never seen Grbic so emotional, this team is his baby.. Zatorski, MVP of both quarter-final legs. his one-handed and no-block digs were devastating to Lube.

Lube and Zaksa played 2 matches against each other. The rules is, if they tie in points golden set is played (to 15 point, like tie break). First match Zaksa won 3:1, second one Lube 3:0 - so it was a tie: 3 points for both. Whoever wins the golden set - qualifies.

@Runner McTurtle Simon is nothing but a server only. He had difficulty reading the sets of Toniutti so he can't block. I was expecting he'd play better but he wasn't. Kochanowski has been steady with blocking and attacking even if there were service errors. But those services aces came at a crucial point.

Yes it was block touch but Sliwka signaled to not challenge it. The rally before that was also a bad call. It should have been a double contact on Juantorena after the block attempt. Both of those are right in front of the 1st referee.

Semeniuk, Sliwka, Kubiak, Bednorz, Szalpuk, Kwolek, Leon etc, I hope they will not change Kurek back to receiving, lol.

The last two points determined who wants it more and determined to win the match. Too bad I won't see my favorite libero, Balaso on a court for a while. Kudos to the French Kozle Team, truly deserved to win this. @Vlad The Doge Lover Drzyzga is not that bad, but there are a lot of better setters: Toniutti, Christenson, De Cecco, Butko, Bruno Rezende. It's not a big problem having players like Leon, Kurek, Kubiak, Zatorski, Kochanowski, Nowakowski or Semeniuk, Kaczmarek. I think Poland is probably the best team in the world, next to USA. Russia and Brazil are always though to beat, but they are for now a bit worse.

If we don't win it's because we don't really have a really good setter. I wish we had Toniutti but sadly we have Drzyzga and few mediocre others. The rest of the team is really deep and many great players at every position.

Simple: score was 1:3 in home match and 3:0 in away match therefore you need an additional set.

There was a discussion last weekend where the commentators were asked if Zaksa needs a different setter because Ben Toniutti cant block. I love the answer of the commentator about him and look at that he's MVP of the match.
